When you are in your holiday cottage out in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk or Huntingdonshire you don't always want the hassle of cooking and shopping for yourself, especially if you've invited friends or family round for the evening. So let me, personal chef Frank Boddy, join you and do all the hard work in the kitchen.

How It Works

We will discuss what you would like to eat, from a formal sit-down meal, to a buffet or banquet, perhaps some tapas, canapés, or just having chilled meals delivered to your cottage for you to heat up when you arrive.

Some people have very specific requirements, others are happy for me to put something together based round just one or two ideas, or you can choose from my seasonal or fixed price menus. If you have requirements around allergies or other dietary requirements these will be taken into account. I will prepare a detailed menu based on local, seasonal produce where possible. I will ensure it is well balanced in terms of nutrition, flavours, style and presentation. I will give you a full quote including my time, ingredients and any travel/delivery costs so you know exactly where you stand.

I will then do the shopping, part prepare the dishes at my home if appropriate, bring any equipment I will need with me, and let you know what time I will arrive.

I will if necessary check with the cottage owner to ensure we have all the crockery, cutlery, glassware, serving dishes, cooking facilities, etc.

For a fully plated dinner party, the recommended maximum is 8-10 diners. For less formal meals, buffets, banquets, tapas, canapé parties etc. I can cater for up to 30 people. Rest assured I will never try to take on an event I'm not confident of coping with.

What It Costs

The cost will very much depend on the menu and style of meal you choose, but will typically be £25 to £30 per person. I will always give you a full quote in advance. I will require a deposit to cover the cost of ingredients. There may also be a mileage charge - see my Prices page for details of this and other pricing information.

  • buy your own drinks and avoid the markup (and the drive home)

  • always top quality, locally sourced ingredients

  • no weekend surcharge - any day, any time
