Please note: one to one cooking lessons at your home are not currently available to book - watch this space! (existing bookings will be honoured!)

It's all about confidence! Cook alongside me at your home, at your own pace. From basic skills such as chopping and preparing food, and combining simple flavours, to more advanced techniques, and tricks of the trade. Learn how to use everyday ingredients to prepare more interesting meals for family and friends, or stun them with your latest creation.

We will plan the time together to ensure you never feel hassled, there is always enough time to learn what you want, and you end the session feeling relaxed and confident. My service is unique, combining professional cookery skills with subtle coaching techniques.

I am based near St Ives, Cambridgeshire, and also cover the Peterborough, Huntingdon, Ely and Cambridge areas, but I am happy to travel to your home up to an hour away, subject to a reasonable mileage charge.

I also teach courses at cookery schools such as Hartingtons of Bakewell, Brosterfield Farm, and run cookery teambuilding days.

GIFT VOUCHERS are available for any amount. They make a great present with a difference when you're stuck for ideas!

How It Works

We will discuss (usually on the phone or by email) what you want to achieve, and jointly put together a menu based around a 3 hour lesson. Lessons can be booked any time during the week, except Friday evenings and Saturdays. Midweek lessons are easier to schedule at short notice. I will send you a shopping and equipment list, bring all the equipment you don't have, sort out the recipes and a time plan for our session. If you have trouble sourcing a particular ingredient I can usually bring it along. If you are eating a meal at the end of the session, you will supply your own crockery, cutlery, glassware, serving dishes etc., and invite your friends or family for a specified time. Of course, you may prefer just to learn in your own time, alone or with friends, without the pressure of serving a meal.

What It Costs

A 3 hour lesson costs £75 (I have found 3 hours is the optimum length). Mileage costs, if any, are extra. You provide the ingredients based on the shopping list I send you.
