Casual Dining Menu

If you are having a less formal event, and want to pay a little less for the same quality of food, then take a look at my Casual Dining below. Some dishes are fully plated, and others served communally at the table. Starters and desserts are usually served individually whatever your numbers.

Put together your own casual dining menu, with a little help from me if you wish. Any of the dishes can be amended to suit your requirements, and you can add options from my vegetarian menu if you wish. Please note that the starting price of £30 per person for 3 courses assumes everyone is eating the same meal. I can provide up to 2 choices for 2 courses at extra cost providing the kitchen facilities are suitable.

Where not specified, dishes are served with an appropriate selection of bread, potatoes, vegetables, salads, cream, ice-cream etc. (but not all at once!), or according to your preference.

Starters

Cajun Prawn Skewers
King Prawns marinated in herbs and spices, griddled,
doused in herb butter, mopped up with fresh bread

Salmon Fishcakes (NF)
served with Fennel and Apple Salad and Lime Dressing

Smoked Haddock Scotch Duck Egg (NF)
half duck egg bound together with smoked haddock,
breadcrumbed and served with curried mayonnaise

Hoisin Duck Parcel (NF, DF)
shredded confit duck leg boudn with hoisin, chilli and spring onion,
wrapped in filo, with sweet and sour minted cucumber salad

Tibetan Momos
A mixture of pork and vegetarian steamed dumplings,
served with a spiced tomato dip and a chilli and coriander dip
To share - eat with your fingers

 Thai Platter (GF)
Thai Fishcakes, Sticky Ribs, Thai Prawn Crackers
with Pickled Cucumber Salad and sweet chilli sauce
for a minimum of 6

Tapas Platter
Chicken and Ham Croquettes, Pinchitos Morunos (spiced pork kebabs),
Empanadillas (mini pasties) (V version also)
for a minimum of 6

Italian Platter
Home-made Foccacia, Balsamic & Olive Oil, Olives, Cured Meats, Cheese,
Roasted and Marinated Mediterranean Vegetables (V version also)
for a minimum of 6

Mexican platter
Corn Cakes, Guacamole, Chorizo and Goats Cheese Stuffed Mini Peppers, 
Buffalo Chicken Wings, Yucatecan Pickled Red Onions, 
Crusty Bread (V version also)

Lebanese platter
Kibbeh (spiced lamb and bulgar wheat "koftas")
Labneh (creamy strained yoghurt)

  Slow Braised Lamb Shank (GF, NF)
cooked in a rich and lightly spiced tomato and vegetable sauce
until almost falling off the bone, served with garlic mash

Moroccan Lamb Tagine (GF)
lamb leg pieces marinated overnight in a rich mixture of
North African spices, then slow cooked with dried fruits
served with roasted vegetable cous cous

Beef Bourguignonne
classic French dish of slow-cooked beef, red wine, herbs,
garlic, mushrooms and bacon
served with creamed potato

Beef and Horseradish Casserole (GF on request)
Warming winter casserole with a bit of a kick,
served with a Herb Cobbler

Slow Roast Pork Belly
in thyme lemon and fennel seeds, with crisp crackling
apple sage and ouzo purée
Dauphinoise potato and roasted squash

 Chicken and Butternut Squash Lasagne (NF)
  chicken layered with squash, pasta, and a marscapone and pesto sauce
served with garlic bread and salad
[or a good old traditional lasagne al forno with lean minced beef]

Chicken Supreme with Cider leek and Mustard Sauce
with fresh tagliatelle, seasonal vegetables

Chicken in Tarragon Cream Sauce (GF, NF)
pieces of tender chicken breast in a cream and white wine sauce,
served with creamed potato, pasta or rice

Haddock, Cheese and Prawn Pie
topped with a fluffy potato pastry crust

Cod Loin with Aubergine Ratatouille
prime cod, chargilled Mediterranean vegetables in a rich sauce

Curried Cod Loin with Coconut Dhal (GF, NF)
yoghurt and mild spice marinated cod 
baked with creamy lentils, coconut milk, tomatoes, lime and crispy onions
