About Me
time to go Wild In The Pantry
|
Having spent over 20 years in IT with a major UK bank, I decided it was time for a change, and so in January 2009 I started the 6 month Diploma course at the Edinburgh School of Food and Wine, graduating, with Merit, in June 2009. I wanted to do something meaningful, work with people, and combine my passions for cookery and coaching, and so I have established Wild In The Pantry, with the aim of fulfilling a need for people who want to be able to cook for themselves, but are not sure where to start, don't have the background, or lack the confidence to get going or progress further. I'm involved with a number of joint ventures as well, with Cambridgeshire Wine School, Hartingtons of Bakewell and Brosterfield Farm out in the beautiful Peak District and others, which has widened my horizons and enabled me to meet even more interesting and passionate people!
I am located near St Ives, Cambridgeshire. I continue to be available for functions in and around Sheffield, South Yorkshire for my existing customers.

... a passion for cookery ...

I also offer my services as a personal chef, whether at your home, holiday cottage or ski lodge (the more exotic the better!). I only cook for small numbers - usually up to 8-10 for a dinner party (for fully plated meals - there is more flexibility if you are happy to serve yourself), and I can cater for 25-30 for buffets and barbies, and many more for canapés. I work either on my own or with you, but can usually provide a waiter/waitress if required. If you are interested, or have a requirement I've not covered, please contact me for an informal chat with no obligation. |
The Reassuring Bit...
I have all necessary and relevant certificates:
- a current Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate, issued by The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland
- a current Emergency & Basic First Aid certificate
- a Basic Disclosure certificate proving I have no criminal convictions in the UK
- Diploma in Food & Wine (Merit) from The Edinburgh School of Food & Wine
- Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Certificates in Wines & Spirits from WSET (Wines & Spirits Education Trust levels 1, 2 and 3)
- Public Liability insurance cover of £1,000,000
